Lawyer's Assistance Request Form
In submitting this request for proposed legal services to the California First Amendment Coalition's Member Law Firm Network, I have read the sample requests to get an idea of the suggested form my request might take. I understand that:
- My request is not subject
to the attorney-client privilege and should not contain sensitive
information I would wish to share only with my attorney.
- Making this request
does not create an attorney-client relationship with any law
firm or with the California First Amendment Coalition.
- The law firms receiving
this request are not obligated to respond, and I have no obligation
to engage any of those that do respond.
- In order to allow the
firms to determine any potential conflicts of interest, I will
identify both myself and, to the extent known at this time, the
public agency or other party I may be contending with in any
legal action.
- In order to obtain prompt
responses and yet give all firms the chance to consider my request,
I will set a deadline for response and will not make a commitment to any responding
firm until the deadline has passed.
- In summary, I understand that this communication is like an "attorney wanted" classified advertisement. It states a need but does not itself create any particular expectations or duties on anyone's part.
